Will my team lose access to email during the migration to Workspace?

Larger organisations with shared drives, shared mailboxes, or a high volume of Office documents tend to run closer to eight weeks. We produce a detailed project timeline at the start of the assessment and we stick to it.
What data gets migrated - is it just email?
We migrate everything: emails (including sent items, drafts, and archive folders), calendars, contacts, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and public folders — all landing in Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts. We also migrate your files from on-premises file shares and SharePoint to Google Drive, converting all Microsoft Office documents in the process: Word (.docx) to Google Docs, Excel (.xlsx) to Google Sheets, and PowerPoint (.pptx) to Google Slides. Your domain is transferred and DNS records updated as part of the process.
What if something goes wrong during the migration?
We take a full verified backup of your Exchange environment and all your files before we touch anything. If something doesn’t go to plan at any stage, we roll back, restore from backup, and start again. You are never at risk of losing email or documents. That risk sits with us. Our engineers are available throughout the project and we don’t sign off until every mailbox, file, and converted document has been verified.

How much disruption will there be for our staff when switching to Google?

We run a pilot migration first with a small group, typically IT and management, so we can catch any issues before they affect the wider team. On cutover day, staff get a short briefing and a one-page guide to Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Meet. Their files are already converted and waiting. We’ve found that the biggest cause of disruption isn’t the technical migration. It’s poor preparation. We help you handle both.
We have a hybrid Exchange setup. Does that affect the Google Workspace MIgration?
Yes. Hybrid Exchange environments, where some mailboxes are already in the cloud and others are still on-premises, are something we handle regularly. We’ll assess your setup during the discovery phase and factor it into the project plan. File conversion is handled regardless of whether mailboxes are on-premises or already partially in the cloud. There’s no additional charge for hybrid complexity.
What happens after we go live on Google Workspace?
Every Google Workspace migration includes 30 days of post-migration support at no extra cost. If anything isn’t working as expected – a Gmail filter, a shared Drive permission, or a converted document with a formatting issue – we fix it.
